Founder of PodFEST and Movie maker Chris Krimitsos shares his insights.
Chris has quickly become one of the largest cheerleaders for Podcasting. In his own words…
I jumped in to help my wife launch her podcast, Biz Women Rock in February 2014. A few months later, I conducted two larger workshops teaching attendees how to start their own podcasts. The turnout was overwhelming, so in 2015 we expanded the vision and created our first Podfest conference with a few hundred people in attendance! Since then, we have nurtured and built a truly unique community that has grown exponentially!
I have seen attendees who could barely speak a full sentence without stuttering show up one year later with confidence as their show and subject matter have reached thousands of people. We have launched hundreds of Podcasters that three years later, are actually still podcasting and monetizing in some way, shape or form. The differentiator is that our community truly supports one another. It makes all the difference as most attendees plan on attending a conference but they walk out with a family…and an eccentric, colorful one at that!
Podfest Multimedia Expo is where creatives come to make their message matter. We attract Independents, Beginners and Changemakers who come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
Our core focus is on our Education, Collaboration and the PME Community! This year we are expanding our conference and adding tracks that will be featuring YouTubers, Conference Builders, Live Streaming, Blogging, Independent Filmmaking, and Online Community Building!
I have been asked many times, “Why are you taking up this cause?”
Here’s a little known fact…I was born deaf in my right ear and had many surgeries as a child to reconstruct what was not there. I have always identified with others who believe in their heart of hearts that anything is possible. As a kid I was always the underdog, but my belief in myself always helped me manifest everything I set out to accomplish.
I identify with Podcasters and online content creators because, by and large, they have so many obstacles up against them and yet they have a burning desire that compels them to get their message out.
