I will talk you through one of the key exercises from my upcoming book in this episode. This is initially about using negative visualization to position things as they are in a positive perspective. If it all “hit the fan”, the questions of “what would it actually be like?” and “what would that feel like?” increase awareness and gratitude of now. The more realistic consequences of a decision are then illuminated.
By premeditating worst case outcomes inside a process can keep negative thoughts confined and in perspective to become a useful tool. This enables you to make bold decisions and move forwards in whatever direction you chose. For a specific “big thing” you are thinking about doing or have been unsure about for some time, answer these four key questions to make that decision:
1. Extreme Negatives.
2. Recovery.
3. Potential Positives.
4. Do nothing.
